Requirements*
1. Folder/Three-Ring Binder: Something to serve as cover, both front and back. Must be able to hold numerous pages.
2. Paper: No lined paper. Typing paper or construction paper will work.
3. Markers/Crayons/Colored Pens or Pencils: Use these to illustrate your portfolio pages.
4. Computer: The use of a computer and printer to complete your portfolio is optional. We will structure many computer-related class assignments around the portfolio and use the computer lab to research poems and poets; however, the way in which you decide to complete the portfolio is your choice.
1. At least ten poems must be included with one illustration or decoration per poem.
2. Five to ten poems of your own must also be included.
3. A minimum of five different poets must be represented in your portfolio.
4. Questionable "poets" (i.e. musical artists, musical groups, movie stars, etc.) are not allowed unless you present substantial evidence in advance warranting each artist's inclusion within your portfolio.
5. Your portfolio must have a constant theme to present the anthology of works you have chosen.
6. Include a table of contents to organize your portfolio and establish a clearly defined order of presentation.
6. A preface, which introduces your portfolio to the reader and briefly discusses the theme of your anthology, must be included at the beginning of the portfolio.
7. A section entitled "About the Authors" with information about each poet must be included within the portfolio.
8. A source page must be included listing where each poem was found. Information used in the "About the Authors" page must also be documented on the source page. The source page must adhere to MLA format.
